Book: The Beginners’ Goodbye; Anne Tyler

Anne Tyler is one of my favorites and I always look forward to reading her books when a new one comes out.  The latest follows the usual happy go lucky guy in Baltimore whose wife recently died and he keeps meeting her ghost during the months after she died.  Not too much substance in this novel, but a nice light summer read.

PJH rating: ***1/2

Book: The Dovekeepers

The story of Masada as told by four different Jewish women whose history and families intertwine.  I think I like the book jacket better than the actual novel, but nevertheless it was a good read.

PJH Rating: Three and 1/2 stars

(I only read 1 book on vacation.  Yikes that’s terrible! I need to get out of my rut)
